The 10U softball Cougars are fired up for the 2022 season after posting a 6-4 record last fall. Head Coach Leah Turpin credited her girls, many of them Cougar rookies last season, for working hard, hustling and improving in all aspects of the game.

“This team features a good combination of second-year players and travel ball newcomers ready to learn and develop at a higher level,” Turpin said.

“Transitioning from ‘house’ leagues to travel ball poses challenges for any player, but our girls tackled those challenges head-on, showing no hesitation in trying new positions or facing faster pitchers,” Turpin said. “I'm proud of their dedication to becoming better ballplayers and of the team's overall effort, execution and energy.”

Looking ahead to the 2022 season, Turpin said she’s “confident our team is well-positioned for success.” The team opens the season April 20 at Bloomingdale (the team’s scheduled opener April 13 was postponed due to adverse weather).

Tournaments the 10U Cougars will compete in include the TNT Cornhole Summer Sizzler, July 15-17 in Carol Stream, IL.

“We've got an up-and-coming pitching rotation, speed on the bases, good gloves and hitters who can drive the ball,” Turpin said. “With our experienced core combining with new talent, we will be a force to be reckoned with in the 2022 spring season. Can't wait to get back on the fields!”
