The 11U softball Cougars, coming off a 43-13 season in 2021, are setting their competitive sights even higher in 2022.
In addition to several 11U tournaments on the calendar beginning in April, the Cougars will play in four local 12U tourneys, Head Coach Scott Raible said. Raible, now in his third year as a Cougars coach, is looking to help players who joined the organization at the 10U level two years ago adjust to the next level with a highly competitive schedule throughout the season.
“Ballplayers get better by testing themselves against the toughest competition,” Raible said. “We have a team of very talented players and I’m confident they’re up to the challenge. I look forward to the coming season.”
The 12U tournaments Raible’s 11U Cougars will compete in include: Bandits Indoor 12/11U, Mokena Blast Off, Glen Ellyn Big Event and Mother's Day Select.
Among 11U tournaments, the Cougars are schedule to compete in: Big Bash, Spring Slugfest, Illinois State and Shane's Spooky 7 (all USSSA-sanctioned).
Raible has also scheduled several 11U/12U round-robin tournaments and “friendlies” with local teams and the team will compete in the USSSA 11U National Championship in July 6-10 in Des Moines, Iowa.
