Cougars 11U Baseball Team Captures Western Suburban Baseball League AAA Championship

Cougars Finish Top Team of 41 League Entries

The Elmhurst Cougars 11u baseball team finished the Spring/Summer 2020 season by winning the Western Suburban Baseball League AAA Tournament Championship on August 20. The Western Suburban Baseball League is the premier travel baseball league in the Chicago area, with teams from the near-western, far-western, south-western, and north-western suburbs. The Elmhurst Cougars 11U team played at the highest level (AAA or elite), with 18 additional western suburban teams. They finished the regular season at the top of the standings with a 6-2 record. The Cougars then went on to win the post-season playoff tournament, and in the process, bested 41 other 11u WSBL teams. The Cougars defeated the Homer Heat, 6-5 in extra innings in the tournament quarterfinals. The Cougars then won their semifinal game against Lemont Lightning, 13-3. The league championship game took place August 20 at Sandburg Middle School, where the Cougars dominated the Batavia Bulldogs, winning 16-0. The Elmhurst Cougars are the original full-time travel team in Elmhurst. Players from Elmhurst and surrounding suburbs comprise the Cougars team rosters.
